Secondary Emission

Supply, Erection, Assistance During Testing Commissioning of Secondary Emission Control of Converter 1 & 2 and Their Associated Miscellaneous Jobs in SMS-II, RSP

Introduction
The project focuses on the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the secondary emission control systems for Converters #1 and #2 in the Steel Melting Shop-II (SMS-II) at Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). This project aims to enhance environmental compliance, improve operational efficiency, and ensure safety within the facility.

Project Scope
The scope of this project includes the following key components:
1. Supply of Equipment
o Emission Control Systems: Procure and supply all necessary components for the secondary emission control systems. This includes filters, ductwork, fans, dampers, control systems, and other essential hardware.
o Auxiliary Equipment: Supply additional equipment required for the integration of the emission control systems with the existing infrastructure, including electrical panels, instrumentation, and automation components.

2. Erection
o Installation of Emission Control Systems: Erect and install the emission control systems for Converters #1 and #2. This includes the assembly and integration of all components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
o Ductwork and Piping: Install ductwork and piping to connect the emission control systems with the converters and other relevant plant areas. Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and insulation.
3. Assistance During Testing
o Functional Testing: Assist in the functional testing of the installed systems to verify their operational integrity. This includes checking all electrical, mechanical, and control systems for proper functionality. o Performance Testing: Support performance testing to ensure the systems meet the specified emission reduction targets and comply with environmental regulations.

4. Commissioning
o System Start-Up: Assist in the initial start-up of the emission control systems, ensuring smooth integration with existing plant operations.
o Calibration and Adjustment: Conduct calibration and adjustment of control systems to optimize performance and achieve desired emission levels.
o Training: Provide training to plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of the new systems, ensuring sustainability and operational knowledge transfer.

5. Associated Miscellaneous Jobs
o Site Preparation: Perform any necessary site preparation work, including civil works, foundation installation, and access improvements.
o Safety Measures: Implement safety measures and protocols to protect personnel and equipment during the execution of the project.
o Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed documentation, including as-built drawings, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures.

6.Project Objectives
The primary objectives of this project are as follows:
o Environmental Compliance: Achieve compliance with environmental regulations by reducing secondary emissions from Converters #1 and #2.
o Operational Efficiency: Improve the overall efficiency and performance of the steel melting process by minimizing emission-related disruptions.
o Safety and Reliability: Enhance the safety and reliability of plant operations by implementing state-of-the-art emission control systems.
